Out of Our Bounty

The Out of our Bounty ministry at Salem United Methodist Church serves the poor of the world out of the great abundance that God has given to us.

How does it work?
Since 2005 the ministry has grown to serve the people of St. Louis, Missouri, and around the world. New and gently used items are brought to Out of Our Bounty (Room 101) on the lower level of the church. Items are screened, sorted, and delivered to agencies such as Kingdom House, Epworth Children & Family Services, Rainbow Network, and Employee Connection.

What can I donate?
Please donate only new and clean gently used items. Tax receipts are available in the office.
1) Clothing and shoes for babies, children, teens, and adults (personal, casual, and professional items are needed)
2) Health care items such as: deodorant, shampoo, toothpaste, toothbrushes, rubbing alcohol, antiseptic creams, rolls of bandages, sterile gloves (new items only).
3) Soccer or tennis balls, frisbees, and jump ropes.

How do I volunteer?
1) Sort items.
2) Deliver items to ministries.
3) Spread the word to friends and neighbors who might like to give through Out of Our Bounty.
