For over 14 years, Salem has partnered with the St. Louis Public Schools, a district serving 20,000+ students throughout the city of St. Louis. Salem partners with Lyon Academy at Blow (PreK-8th grade) in the Carondelet neighborhood and Walbridge STEAM Academy (PreK-5th grade) in the Walnut Park East neighborhood. Explore our in-person and contactless opportunities to support the schools. YOU can make a difference in the life of a child!

Training for Walbridge Tutors

Parking info – Please park on the 3rd floor of the SLPS garage, located just north of the 801 building on the left-hand side of 11th Street. We will validate your parking ticket so please make sure to bring it with you.

School supplies are need all year long at local St. Louis Public Schools.  Your donation can help teachers and students be have a successful school year.

single-subject wide-ruled spiral notebooks
solid colored pocket folders
hand-held pencil sharpeners
packages wide-ruled loose-leaf paper
wide-ruled composition notebooks
single-subject college-ruled spiral notebooks
Crayola colored pencils (12 pack)
sharpened #2 wooden pencils
Kleenex Boxes
Lysol Spray Bottles
Lysol Disinfecting Wipes (cans, tubs or packages)
Disposable Masks (Youth small or Youth medium size)

In-Person Opportunities

Options are available for both individuals and groups.  Some options are for adults 21yrs and older and may require a background check.  Service opportunities such as:

Walbridge Mobile Food Market
Tutoring at Lyon Academy
Tutoring at Walbridge STEAM Academy
Pass out student attendance incentives
Help with games during parent teach conferences
Organize a benefit concert or special event
Assist with annual school supply drive

Contactless Opportunities

Opportunities for individuals and groups such as:

Write notes of encouragement
Provide baked goods for staff
