Music Matters

Salem’s musical teams include some of the finest classical and modern musicians and vocalists in St. Louis, as well as musical guests from around the world. But our music is never just a performance. Our music seeks to inform and shape our faith as we praise God together each week. Our weekly worship services and special events highlight a variety of musical styles, but all of them are designed to inspire, comfort, challenge and transform lives.

Salem United

Salem United is a modern worship music band led by Rev. Tim Power and Rev. Nick Savage, originating from Salem United Methodist Church in St. Louis, MO. The collective features gifted singers and skillful instrumentalists, both professional and lay musicians.  Through their music Salem United shares music to inspire and shape our faith as we praise God together.

Salem Choir

The Salem United Methodist Choir is composed of both professional and volunteer voices that practice weekly and sing a variety of traditional music including traditional church hymns, great classical pieces, and the important spirituals of our faith.  The choir is accompanied by our Moeller organ and Steinway grand piano. The choir leads our congregation in singing hymns each week, as well as performing special music with our Orchestra and guest soloists.  Chancel Choir rehearsal is Wednesdays at 7:30-9:00 pm am and is open to all.

Salem Chamber Orchestra

The Salem Chamber Orchestra is a professional orchestra featured in our 11:00 am traditional worship service at our Mid-County Site on a regular basis.  It is our belief and conviction that great music, regardless of style, speaks to people. It doesn’t just entertain – it transforms!

Study Music at Salem

The Third Viennese School of Music® brings classical values into the modern era to train the next generation of creative artists. We believe the best place for young musicians to grow is in the church where they can thrive in a meaningful culture and use their skills to glorify God.

The church has been a home for classical music throughout history; we are revitalizing this beautiful art in the church by offering classical music instruction for children, teens, and adults at Salem United Methodist Church.  For more details visit
