Freedom School

In partnership with LifeWise StL and Children's Defense Fund Salem has supported the Freedom Schools Program since 2019 by offering to host a summer session at our South-City Site: The Connection and provide volunteers. Freedom School seeks to build strong, literate, and empowered children prepared to make a difference in themselves, their families, communities, nation, and world today. By providing summer reading enrichment for children who might not otherwise have access to books, the program plays a much needed role in helping to curb summer learning loss and close achievement gaps. Discover how you can make a difference today in the lives of St. Louis children.
